Interaction Designer with Sony Ericsson
SUMMARY:
The Interaction Designer is responsible for designing the User Interface for applications. This role is part of the global User Interface Design organization, which is the driving force behind the user experience in the SonyEricsson products.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
*Gather and analyze design requirements from internal, operator and end-user customers
*Create the conceptual design, in close cooperation with Systems, Software, Application Planning and other stakeholders
*Involve the user in the design work,
*Prototype interaction design concepts that meet the requirements and follows the global design guidelines.
*Design the flow, look, feel and behavior of applications, as well as needed UI elements
*Review and evaluate designs, and perform usability testing
*Address issues of the design, including technical complexities and dependencies
*Document and communicate designs internally and externally (AUI light - an overview of all major functionality, including screen shots and flows)
*Approve the detailed AUI specifications
*Identify UI requirements, in particular as related to NAM market
*Support Interaction Designers at other sites on NAM-related design issues, including fact finding, usability testing and user involvement
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
*Must have genuine interest in consumer products and technology
*BS in interaction design, multimedia engineering with focus on interaction design, or equivalent
*Excellent knowledge of user involvement tools and methods
*Graphic design and desktop publishing
*Two or more experience in relevant fields
*Good problem setting and solving skills, creativity, innovative abilities
*Ability to work as part of a global team
*Must be quality driven and efficiency conscious, and have the ability to make quick decisions
*Strong communication skills in English (both written and oral)
*Good coordination, organization, and reporting skills
*Good computer skills, such as MS Office
*Some travel is involved to NAM and Europe (2-6 times per year)
